Numerous avenues exist for starting freediving. The 1-star AIDA 1 beginner freediving course serves as a foundational program encompassing essential techniques and theoretical knowledge for aspiring freedivers.

Cost: £165
Includes pool hire as well as all equipment.

As an AIDA 1* candidate, we ask that you transport yourself between local dive sites; however, please contact us if this will be an issue.

(Additionally, if you have your own wetsuit, we would recommend bringing it.)

This Beginner Freediving Course not only enables you to train in pools across the country with clubs but also prepares you for more advanced courses. If you’re looking to use dive sites either in the UK or abroad, you’d need the AIDA 1&2 star certification.

You can complete the 2* at a later date or, alternatively, even the day after (subject to availability).

  I did the Aida 1 and 2 two day course with Oli as an instructor and thought it was excellent. He's a brilliantly engaging instructor who is clearly a world expert. He focusses massively on safety which, in fact, is a set of skills that allow you to dive better: more efficiently and for longer. It was so comprehensive that I feel confident that I can dive proficiently at depth and I was a complete beginner when I started. The environment at the pool is amazing with Sauna and hot tub and a great cozy classroom. The kit was top class too. I'm looking forward to applying the skills to spearfishing and foraging in the future and will certainly return to Delphy for more practice and courses.

  Enjoyed a really lovely spa package recently, had tranquil swims in the clear water, in scenic and natual surroundings. Then 15 mins in the swirling hot tub and a brief time in the sauna (with a view!). Perfect! A hot shower followed, also a hot chocolate made by the very welcoming, informative Oliver. Will be back at some point I'm sure to this unusual venue. Thank you for the experience, not one that I have had before!

  Oil’s knowledge and delivery of the AIDA2 course is extraordinary. With grim weather conditions and totally inexperienced students, he has given us the confidence, experience and information needed to spearfish safely and well! We focused on challenging freediving techniques to support our time hunting fish. He’s a lovely guy to be around too!

  Fantastic experience, our group was initially down for the two day spearfishing course, however, the weather wasn’t playing ball. So instead we changed the course to the freediving course. This actually worked out much better for us, giving us a much better baseline for spearfishing. By the end, we were going much deeper than we originally would have and I feel much more confident to get out in the water and catch some fish!

  Booked the spa package, what a beautiful place to swim and relax. The water was crystal clear. The hot tub and sauna are both great and the hot chocolate  after was lovely. Wish I lived closer .
